This policy explains what personal data Chronix Watches collects when you visit chronixwatchesue.online or place an order, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it. It applies to customers in Switzerland, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and everywhere else we ship.
1. Who is responsible for your data
Chronix Watches is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. We are established in Switzerland and sell to customers in the EEA, which means we comply with both the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. What we collect
Information you give us
- Order and delivery data — name, shipping and billing address, email address, telephone number where you provide one.
- Payment data — processed directly by our payment providers. We receive confirmation of payment and the last four digits of the card; we never see or store the full card number.
- Account data — if you create a customer account: your email, password (stored encrypted) and order history.
- Correspondence — the content of emails or messages you send us, including return and warranty claims.
- Marketing preferences — whether you have consented to receive our emails.
Information collected automatically
- Device and browsing data — IP address, browser type and version, operating system, time zone, referring pages and the pages you view on our store.
- Cookies and similar technologies — see section 7.
What we never collect
We do not request or store identity document numbers, bank account numbers, health data, or any special category data. If you send such information to us voluntarily in a message, we delete it.
3. Why we use it, and on what legal basis
| Purpose | Data used | Legal basis (GDPR Art. 6) |
|---|---|---|
| Processing and delivering your order | Order, delivery and payment data | Performance of a contract |
| Handling returns, refunds and warranty claims | Order data, correspondence | Performance of a contract / legal obligation |
| Fraud prevention and payment security | Order data, device data | Legitimate interest |
| Accounting, tax and customs records | Order and payment data | Legal obligation |
| Customer support | Correspondence, order data | Performance of a contract / legitimate interest |
| Marketing emails | Email address, marketing preferences | Consent (withdrawable at any time) |
| Improving the store and its performance | Aggregated device and browsing data | Legitimate interest |
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. We share only what is necessary, with the following categories of processors:
- Shopify — the platform that hosts our store and processes orders on our behalf.
- Payment providers — to authorise and settle your payment, and to detect fraud.
- Carriers and logistics partners — your name, delivery address and, where required, phone number, so your parcel can be delivered and customs cleared.
- Email service providers — to send order notifications and, if you consented, marketing emails.
- Professional advisers and authorities — accountants, auditors, or public authorities where we are legally required to disclose.
5. International transfers
Some of our providers process data outside Switzerland and the EEA. Where that happens, the transfer is covered by an adequacy decision, by Standard Contractual Clauses, or by another lawful transfer mechanism, so your data keeps an equivalent level of protection.
6. How long we keep it
| Data | Retention period |
|---|---|
| Order, invoice and payment records | 10 years, as required by Swiss commercial and tax law |
| Customer account data | Until you delete the account, then removed within 90 days |
| Customer support correspondence | 3 years after the matter is closed |
| Marketing consent records | Until you unsubscribe, plus 3 years as proof of consent |
| Analytics and device data | Up to 14 months, then aggregated or deleted |
7. Cookies
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use them in three ways:
- Strictly necessary — to keep your basket, let you log in and process checkout securely. These cannot be switched off.
- Analytics — to understand how the store is used so we can improve it.
- Marketing — to measure the performance of our advertising and, where applicable, show you relevant ads.
Analytics and marketing cookies are set only with your consent, which you can give, refuse or change at any time through the cookie banner. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though the store may not work correctly without the necessary ones.
8. Marketing emails
We send marketing emails only to people who have opted in. Every message contains an unsubscribe link that works immediately, and you can also ask us to remove you by writing to chronixwatchesue@outlook.com. Withdrawing consent does not affect order notifications, which we must send to fulfil your purchase.
9. Your rights
Under the GDPR and the revFADP you have the right to:
- Access — obtain a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification — have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected.
- Erasure — have your data deleted, where we have no legal duty to keep it.
- Restriction — ask us to pause processing while a dispute is resolved.
- Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Objection — object to processing based on our legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent — at any time, without affecting processing already carried out.
Exercising these rights is free. We may ask you to confirm your identity before we act, to make sure we are not disclosing your data to someone else.
Complaints
If you believe we have mishandled your data, we would like the chance to put it right first. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority — in Switzerland, the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC); in the EEA, the authority in your country of residence.
10. Security
Our store runs over encrypted HTTPS connections and payments are handled by PCI-DSS compliant providers. Access to customer data is limited to the people who need it to run the business. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach ever affects your rights we will notify you and the competent authority as the law requires.
11. Children
Our store is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our business or the law changes. The date at the top always shows the current version. Material changes will be announced on this page before they take effect.
